Therapist & Women’s Wellness Advocate

This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Alexa Walker, a therapist based in Suwanee, Georgia, whose passion for women’s mental health is deeply rooted in both her professional expertise and her personal journey.

About Alexa

Alexa is a wife, mom of two little ones under the age of three, and proud dog mom to her senior pup, Paisley. She recently earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia and now dedicates her career to walking alongside women on their mental health journeys. When she’s not with clients, you’ll often find her outside soaking up sunshine, running, or listening to audiobooks while spending quality time with her family.

Her Business & Mission

Alexa brings a unique, holistic approach to her therapy practice. With certifications as both a Health Mindset Coach and a NASM Personal Trainer, she bridges the connection between mental and physical well-being. Her work is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory, inner child therapy, and trauma-informed care - all with the belief that every woman already carries the power to create change in her life.

What makes Alexa’s practice special is her focus on women’s issues, particularly maternal mental health. Her own experiences with postpartum depression and disordered eating fueled her passion for helping other women feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate both motherhood and life as whole individuals.

A Personal Why

Alexa began her career in 2018 as a health and mindset coach, but becoming a mother changed everything. After struggling to find the support she needed during postpartum, she expanded her work into therapy to provide the care she wished had been more available to her. Today, she works with women through a trauma-informed, compassionate lens - honoring both the challenges and the resilience that motherhood often brings.

What She’s Most Proud Of

Alexa is especially proud of the way she gets to support mothers during seasons of change. For her, the work is personal. Having fought hard through her own healing, she considers it an honor to walk alongside other women doing the same.

Lessons Learned & Looking Ahead

One of the biggest lessons Alexa has learned in business is that what’s meant for her will never pass her by. This perspective has brought her peace as she trusts the right clients, opportunities, and timing will always align.

Looking to the future, Alexa dreams of creating supportive group spaces for women - especially mothers. She envisions offering groups with childcare included, giving moms the chance to focus on themselves without the weight of juggling it all. She also hopes to expand into communities with limited access to mental health care, ensuring every mother has the opportunity to be seen and supported.

Right now, Alexa is especially grateful for her “village” - her support system - as well as her own resilience and vision. She believes gratitude and trust in the process have been the foundation of both her business and her personal life.
